Patience and Love in the Family

Examples: Have the good sense to keep quiet – in the right
place – at the right time – keep your children’s
secrets – protect the privacy of your family, of
                       your spouse.

As a mother you must quietly feel your way into your child’s
heart – must actively listen to him – into the hearts of all the
family members for that matter. – This requires a great deal of
good sense and delicacy so that you do not act like a clumsy
person causing the snail’s shell to break. – Be so wise as to al-
ways be honest so that the child’s confidence may not be
          shaken, nor the husband’s.

With good sense you can avoid a lot of quarrelling – settle
arguments and solve problems. No flood of words, yet clear,
resolute and heartfelt ones and with a tone so that the other
person can accept it; in other words calm and kind-hearted. –
Weigh up the situation – the right moment – your and the other
person’s state of mind, otherwise it could happen that despite
good will your advice is uncalled-for.

Also consider whether it is necessary to barge into every
squabble of the children. Quite often the argument will settle
itself. Children make peace faster than adults do. Besides, the
child need not be told off and have a bad feeling that he has
failed again. I know that a mother has hundreds of different
things to consider during the day to live up to everything. With
calmness, good and common sense you can manage. You
must ask yourself: „Do I take time for this, even if little?“

It is important and it feels good: some music – some fresh air –
something creative – or a few lines. Afterwards you will have a
clear head again and more patience and nerves.
