P. 6

Allow your child to explore the world and with patient expla-
nations reveal nature’s life and activity to him. Help the child to
understand that those things were made by someone who
can do a lot more than all the people – that there is a FATHER
who just so wonderfully looks after the people and makes
them happy with such beautiful things. Point at the animals
and plants, wind and rain, night and day, the seasons, sun,
moon, and stars. All this will astonish a child – make him think
and ask questions. Use every opportunity and always be pre-
pared to answer questions. Allow your child to feel stones,
little animals and the grass – to perceive the fragrance of the
flowers. Teach him to see nature and to listen beyond the sur-
face. Support his explorations, his enthusiasm and admi-
          ration.

It is inevitable that in the child the love towards the Heavenly
FATHER will be awakened. Then you can marvellously wedge
in: „Look, in as many ways as you can feel, and in all you see,
the good LORD shows Himself to you. If you are good to ev-
erything and to all people, you will once be allowed to go
there, embrace the FATHER in Heaven and stay with Him for
eternity.“ It is that easy to direct the child towards GOD. It is
that easy to tell the child about JESUS on the Cross and in the
Host. Thrill your child’s heart so that he can love and thank.
Teach him little prayers of the heart.

Most children, however, will soon forget and lose all this if
their parents do not set a good example. The child with his
delicately strung soul will sense whether or not his parents are
really living what they say or instruct the child to do. The child
senses whether or not something comes from the heart or
whether they are merely empty words. The mother’s heart
must have such a strength that it is convincing!
