Honesty
were not raised to be independent and their self-awareness
was undermined with remarks
such as: „Give back, you cannot do that!“ – „You will not
manage!“ – „You will never get anywhere!“ – „Just
do not touch anything!“ and so on.
Well, how on earth is a child supposed to have trust in himself?
– How painful for a child when the parents have no trust in his
efforts.
Do not be surprised when this child ends up a failure! He will
timidly tackle something – with the thought of failing anyhow.
Honesty
A child senses very well whether something comes from the
heart or whether he is being fobbed off with half-truths. For a
child a drawing or a piece of handicraft is the whole world –
Don’t you ever destroy it, least of all in rage! That would tram-
ple on the creative power of the child and could have a de-
structive effect. When the achievement is done, an honest
praise is an encouragement for the child and adult alike.
