Honesty

If a child thinks like this, things become tragic. The serious
matter which has deeply shocked the child will put him at risk.
The child is put in a tight spot where he cannot help himself
any more. The child cannot cope with the problems by him-
          self. Obvious from the following

examples: The child clams up – cuts himself off – scores bad
marks – does not feel like studying – can fall into a
depression – has a broken sleep – complains
about tension on the chest – has a backache – ex-
cessive appetite – or the opposite: doesn’t want to
eat. Perhaps the child has states of anxiety – un-
usual fits of anger – great feelings of guilt even if
he himself is not to blame.

Reproaches such as: „You are unwanted!“ – „You are a nui-
sance!“ – „Wish we did not have you!“ –
„We actually did not want you!“ – „You
come between us!“ etc. will drive a
                                 child into never-ending feelings of
guilt and never will he tackle them on
his own. The child will keep tor-
                                 menting himself with self-reproaches

such as: „Because of me my parents are quarrelling!“ –
„Because of me daddy lives somewhere else!“ –
„Because of me mummy will never come again –
                       my siblings are split up!“

A crack running through his whole life. – Perhaps the child is
looking in various and striking ways for love, affection and a
sense of security. If he does not find them at home, it becomes
          dangerous!
