The Wedding Day
The Wedding Day
is really a wonderful day. The majority of young married couples are
not aware what profound and lasting bond they have entered into,
what commitment they have taken on and also imposed on the other
person, that this Sacrament – provided that it has been validly received
before GOD – is binding till death. They would have more strength to
cope with everyday life if they were also aware that this Sacrament is an
ever-flowing wellspring. They often would not have to go so far to draw
strength and seek help. In the strength of the Sacrament they would
know how to share joy and sorrow, and solve problems.
In the strength and with the blessing of the Sacrament you meet your
partner – come to him body and soul. Then all you do has also been
sanctified and gives mutual strength and spirit.
See to it that this great day – this important step in a new stage of your
lives is not drowned by big partying and drunkenness – and that not
obscene talks and dirty jokes trickle poison into the vessel of grace.
This is a day of joy – of grace and meditation. The feast should not last
into the night for the newly wedded couple so that they still have time
for themselves alone. Take care that the wedding night does not bring
the big disappointment because you might have had one too many.
The most beautiful garland is twined by love and fidelity.
