little older and an age-related decline of hearing enters into it.
Being hard of hearing can slowly turn into a real handicap.
Whoever is exposed for a prolonged period of time to a noise
level of more than 85 decibel (corresponds to the noise of a
lorry from a few metres distance) must be prepared for a
hearing impairment. What to do? Avoid noise peaks, wear ear
protection.“

Here, too, you cannot just close the
world for your child. Someday your
child will find himself confronted
with all these influences. Early clarifi-
cation is necessary. Teach your child
to make critical decisions.
So here too, proper, matter-of-fact and
patient conversations and discussions.
Show him that his pocket money
would be wasted on such worthless,
primitive entertainment, which at the
same time does harm to body and
soul, that he should not let anyone
fool him – that the performers are
only interested in the money!
Some parents might perhaps
say now: „We are hardly a
match for such a rush of influ-
ence, and some children will have their way in spite of all the
good warnings.“ Yes, he that will not hear must feel. The chil-
dren just have to make certain experiences themselves, even
if they are painful. There are children who only learn in this
