way – who mature and grow stronger in misfortune – in failure.
Maybe this person will afterwards face life much better be-
cause he had to strike deeper roots in order to find secure
hold.
The young human being is like a little tree that is planted in a
good soil. It is supported by love and care. After some time it
has to learn to stand on its own and free to brave small storms.
That makes the roots reach deeper into the soil. The little tree
grows into a tree. Meanwhile, it could not avoid wind and
weather. It had to dig its roots deeper and deeper into the soil.
Now the tree has to fend all for itself. Strengthened by the love
and confidence of its guides, it outdares every storm – al-
though overgrowth may occasionally have to be pruned back.
Dear parents, do not despair. GOD knows about your cares
and efforts. He knows about the danger of the youth. Cling to
Him and He will cling to you. Have confidence – believe and
hope, and in spite of everything, be cheerful parents.
Come and obtain for yourselves the necessary strength from
the Sacraments. It is a wonderful comfort to know that GOD is
above everything and does not make mistakes.
